Late afternoon shows in your eyes
Hazel from blue, as daylight slowly dies
With heavy eyelids, your head it turns
Your hair it falls as you drift... away
As shadows fill the corner of the room
So warm so still, that shaft of light on you
Came through the curtain and down the wall
It rests in peace as you drift... away

I watch you fall asleep, I like to stare
May I forever see, you in your favorite chair

A perfect day, that walk that kiss
That smile that says why can't it stay like this
But now it's over, 'least for a while
I hear my heartbeat as you drift... away

I watch you fall asleep, I like to stare
I know I'll always see, you in that silly chair
I watch you drift away, without a care
May I forever see, you in your favorite chair

I'm looking forward to looking back
Remembering when, again and again and again

With heavy eyelids, your head it turns
Your hair it falls as you drift... away

I watch you fall asleep, without a care
I know I'll always see, you in that silly chair
You're in my heart my soul, you're everywhere
Especially when I, see you in your favorite chair
